Promoting traffic safety for children in an elementary school

Hiyong Kim, TYM Chairman, visited the Seoul Eonbuk Elementary School on April 20 to participate in a relay challenge organized to promote a culture of traffic safety in school zones. The chairman began his visit by looking at the school's zones and facilities.

Seoul Eonbuk Elementary School regularly organizes the traffic safety challenge in order to create a safe environment for all children.

Supporting the initiative, Chairman Hiyong Kim said, "I hope this challenge spreads awareness of traffic culture, which puts child safety first, not only in school zones or child protection zones, but also in all traffic environments."

The Children's Traffic Safety Relay Challenge was suggested as an initiative during a contest in December last year. The initiative was selected by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security for rollout. TYM Chairman Hiyong Kim was nominated by the Byucksan Engineering Chairman Hee-geun Kim for the Traffic Safety challenge. Seoul Perfumery Vice Chairman Chairman Sung-Yong Cho and DYC Chairman Jonghoon Lee are among the next nominations.

Participating in the children's traffic safety initiative is a small part of a large community and environment effort at the company, which recently changed its name to the more recognizable "TYM" from the previous "Tong Yang Moolsan Co."

The company is undertaking a larger CSR & ESG initiative, prioritizing as the most important for the agricultural industry. The company started with a ban on disposable products to be more environmentally conscious, added a disaster control tower to help provide quick support for emergencies, donated tractors to 20-30 year old farmers to encourage agricultural careers, provided welfare assistance to low-income youth and donated to the Van Fleet foundation.

TYM plans to continue and accelerate ESG initiatives and accomplish first stage advancement for a mid-size business by 2025. By 2030, TYM aims to become a company globally recognized for ESG initiatives.
