A Life Spent with the Land: Farmer Han Moon-taek’s Story
Currently, I cultivate about 30,000 pyeong of rice paddies and fields combined, and I also run a livestock barn. Of that, I grow rice and barley on about 20,000 pyeong, and field crops—mainly corn—on about 10,000 pyeong. I also raise about 70 Korean cattle (Hanwoo) in the barn. I first started using TYM products in the 1980s. I began with a cultivator, then moved on to four-row and five-row rice transplanters, as well as five-row and six-row combines, so I’ve used a variety of TYM equipment. Recently, as my barley harvest increased, I even purchased an imported combine to use alongside my existing machines.
Machinery That Feels Like an Extension of My Own Hands—A Reliable Partner Every Day
Right now, I’m using the K110E and John Deere 6145R tractors, the RGO-660 rice transplanter, and a 5-row combine. The K110 tractor is my go-to for rotary work, and it’s powerful and stable enough to handle moving rice straw or seedling trays with ease. It’s agile even in tight spaces like the cattle barn, making it perfect for feed management and other chores. It’s an essential piece of equipment I simply couldn’t do without!
The John Deere 6145R tractor offers outstanding power, making heavy-duty tasks easy, and its precise control has made barn work and corn farming much more efficient. I’m satisfied with its fuel economy, and I use it for everything from baling and corn harvesting to raking. It’s made my farming days a lot smoother.
I recently purchased the RGO-660 rice transplanter. Even in deep-water paddies like mine, it operates with complete stability. While ordinary transplanters often get stuck or slip, the RGO-660’s powerful output and balanced weight distribution keep it working smoothly. Of all the transplanters I’ve used, I’d say this one delivers the best performance.

Decades of Experience, Now Together with TYM
I’ve recently been appointed as a TYM technical advisory committee member. Having used TYM products for so many years, I’m more familiar with them than most. I’ve used not only TYM tractors, combines, and transplanters, but also imported equipment, so I can clearly identify what works well and what could be improved.
In the past, I suggested some improvements after using TYM machines, and I saw those suggestions actually reflected in the products. That’s when I realized TYM genuinely listens to its users. Even now, as an advisory committee member, I see firsthand how even the smallest feedback from farmers is incorporated into product development.
Going forward, I want to keep sharing essential insights from the field and directly contribute to TYM’s drive for innovation. I’m committed to helping TYM create even better solutions for farmers everywhere.
