Storing your tractor correctly

During seasons of heavy rain or precipitation, it is important to store your tractor at an elevation to avoid flood damage from low-lying areas. Here is a step-by-step process to storing your tractor.

• Clear away soil and impurities before wiping away any moisture.
• Lubricate the body of the vehicle and moving parts to repel the collection of water droplets and prevent corrosion.
• Lubricate the engine cylinder for safe storage.
• Add grease to the relevant parts, such as the oil filler hole.
• Remove the air filter to avoid trapped moisture and clogging.
• Ensure clutches are not depressed so belts remain loose.
• Tighten the fuel tank cap to secure it from allowing any moisture or water droplets.
• Store the tractor at an elevation, ideally in an indoor warehouse. If your tractor must be stored outdoors, then use a weatherproof tarp to wrap the tractor firmly and secure it with rope or cables so the tarp does not loosen in the wind.

In case your tractor makes contact with a lot of water

If your tractor has made contact with a lot of water or parts are immersed, take the following counter-measures immediately so it can continue to operate normally.   

• Remove any dirt and wipe of any visible moisture, and follow up with lubrication of the necessary moving parts.
• If water had entered the fuel tank, drain it completely using a high pressure pump. 
• Replace the fuel filter, as it may have become clogged with moisture. 
• Wipe and dry electrical components, including spark plugs.
• Disconnect the battery connections and let it dry thoroughly. Then, grease the battery terminals.
• Inspect the electrical wirings and replace damaged parts and insulation tape.  
• Loosen the bolts connected to the silencer and remove water droplets and any other visible contaminants.
• Clean and dry the radiator, motors, voltage regulators etc.
• Finally, replace the battery fluid, coolant and engine oil.

※ If foreign substances and contaminants enter the engine, be sure to have the engine repaired with the help of a professional engineer.
