TYM acquires ISO 45001 certification... Accelerating ESG Management
ISO 45001 is an international standard safety and health management system established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Labor Organization (ILO) in 2018 for worker safety. It will be given to companies that have established an industrial accident prevention and response system that can occur at workplaces through strict screening.
As part of ESG management, TYM has been striving to create a safe working environment and establish a systematic safety and health management system. As a result, by acquiring ISO 45001 for machine production plants on the 3rd, it satisfies international safety and health standards and has been recognized for its activities. In particular, safety and health prevention activities and response systems such as regular risk assessment and action plan operation, safety and health prevention activities of contractors, and COVID-19 prevention management were highly evaluated.
Based on the acquisition of ISO 45001, TYM has set a goal to expand and operate the globally recognized safety and health system across the company. The plan is to implement a safe working environment by establishing a safety and health management system at all workplaces in the group (Iksan plant, Nonsan plant, Okcheon plant, laboratory, Jincheon filter, and eight regional headquarters nationwide). To this end, a safety and health organization (safety management team) has been established to identify risk factors for accidents in the workplace and promote improvement activities.
TYM expects the acquisition of the certification to take a full-fledged drive to strengthen ESG management. TYM, which declared ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management for the first time in the agricultural machinery industry in February last year, established an in-house ESG committee and secretariat to establish and implement a long-term ESG vision.
Earlier, it obtained ISO 14001 certification with the aim of the industry's highest level, and achieved the first comprehensive evaluation "A grade" in the agricultural machinery industry in the "2021 ESG evaluation and rating announcement" announced by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS).
Lee Joo-young, head of the TYM plant, said, "The steady efforts to create a safe workplace have paid off," adding, "We will do our best to promote pre-prevention activities for major industrial accidents with safety in the workplace as the top priority."
